Bleu Devils Secure Convincing Victory Over Southern Jags

NEW ORLEANS–In a competitive volleyball match between Southern University A&M and Dillard University on October 31, 2024, Dillard University emerged victorious with a 3-1 win.

The match took place at Dent Hall in New Orleans, LA, and despite a strong effort from Southern University A&M, Dillard University proved to be the better team.

Southern showed their determination throughout the match, with Alicia Hearn leading the team with 18 kills and Tamara Chavez adding 12 kills. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome Dillard's balanced attack.

The Bleu Devils had a strong showing, with Cadence Thomas leading the team with 12 kills and Sara Da Silva adding 11 kills. Nanyelis Moreno contributed significantly with 29 assists to help guide their team to victory.

Overall, Dillard's efficient offense and solid defense proved to be the difference in this match. Southern University A&M put up a good fight, but ultimately fell short against a strong Bleu Devil team.

With this win, Dillard University improved their record to 16-8 overall and 13-1 in conference play, while Southern University A&M dropped to 7-18 overall and 4-6 in conference play.
