Bleu Devils Sweep Lady Bulldogs of Tougaloo

JACKSON, MS–Dillard University dominated Tougaloo College in a straight-set victory on October 17, 2024. Dillard University improved to 10-7 overall and 8-1 in conference play, while Tougaloo College fell to 4-14 overall and 3-5 in conference play.

Dillard showcased their offensive firepower, hitting an impressive .341 as a team. Vanae Sapp led the charge with 10 kills, while Cadence Thomas and Sara Da Silva added 8 and 9 kills, respectively. Nanyelis Moreno orchestrated the offense with 17 assists, while Tyramae Fautanu contributed 15 assists. Defensively, Gabrielle Washington and Makaela Swoopes anchored the net with 2 blocks each.

On the other side, Tougaloo struggled offensively, hitting just .000 as a team. Zindzhi Conner led the team with 5 kills, while Kaliyah Shavers added 5 kills as well. Taylor Cousar facilitated the offense with 13 assists. Ke'Ira Collier led the defensive effort with 12 digs.

Overall, Dillard's efficient offense and solid defense proved to be too much for Tougaloo College to handle. The win further solidified Dillard's position as a strong contender in their conference.
