Dillard Falls to Fisk in Semi-Final Matchup
Shreveport, LA- In a volleyball match between Fisk University (TN) and Dillard University (LA), Fisk emerged victorious with a 3-1 win. This contest eliminated the Bleu Devils from the GCAC Volleyball tournament.
Fisk University started strong, winning the first two sets with scores of 25-22 and 25-16, respectively. However, Dillard University fought back in the third set, winning 25-9. The fourth set was closely contested, but Fisk ultimately secured the win with a score of 25-21.
Jadyn Brackins from Fisk University had a solid performance with 2 kills and 28 digs. Nebthet Re also stood out with 4 kills and 38 assists. Iyanla Thigpen contributed significantly with 13 kills and 5 digs.
On the Dillard University side, Cadence Thomas had an impressive game with 9 kills and 4 digs. Vanae Sapp also performed well, recording 7 kills and 15 digs. Tyramae Fautanu had a strong showing with 15 assists and 8 digs.
Overall, it was a competitive match between Fisk University and Dillard University. Fisk's strong attack and defensive efforts ultimately led them to victory. Dillard closes the season on a high note, notching a 20-win season, and looks to return most of the team. The Bleu Devils will look to be back in the championship matchup next season with a more experienced group. Dillard's, Taylor Hurst would be the lone Bleu Devil to earn All-Tournament Honors for this season.
