New Orleans,LA- The Bleu Devils took a trip to Louisiana Christian to take on the Wildcats in a hard-fought battle. They would come up short in the fifth set (8-15) in an exciting contest between the two. The Bleu Devils got off to a slow start as they lost the first two sets but battled back to break even and force a fifth set. The final set started an even match but the Wildcats quickly proved to be too much for the Bleu Devils. That brings the Bleu Devils' record to 5-7 on the season going into the remaining conference schedule.
On the night, Vanae Sapp had 17 digs and 7 kills. Payton Williams added 11 kills with a kill percentage of .529. Chasry Lum-King contributed 25 digs and 7 assists on the night. Tyramae Fanutanu led the team in the assist category with 20 followed by Taylor Hurst who had 19.
The Bleu Devils look to rebound and gain some momentum going into the conference portion of the schedule. Their next match will be in Holly Spring, Miss, against Philander Smith on Oct. 1, 2022, at 3pm.
