Kevell Byrd Shines Bright at KMS Invitational
NEW ORLEANS– Kevell Byrd has once again shown her incredible talent on the track, winning the 400m event with a time of 56.63 seconds. This impressive performance places her at #8 on Dillard's all-time list for this distance. In addition to her victory in the 400m, Byrd showcased her versatility by finishing 3rd in the 200m, clocking in at 24.54 seconds, which secured her the #5 position in the all-time rankings for this event. With her remarkable achievements, she has now qualified for every event she has participated in for the 2025 season.
Freshman Laila Johnson continues to make waves in the track and field scene. Competing on a banked track for the first time, she demonstrated her potential by finishing 8th overall in the 400m event. In addition, she showed her skills in the 60m hurdles, where she landed in 11th place.
Tori Burton took to the track for the challenging 60m sprint, competing in two rounds. In the first round, she achieved a time of 7.79 seconds, followed by a slightly slower run of 7.82 seconds in the second round.
