The Dillard Women's Tennis Team Wins First Match Of The Season, 5-2, Over Mississippi University for Women on Saturday New Orleans – The Dillard University women's tennis team (1-2) earned their first victory of the season by a 5-2 score over visiting Mississippi University for Women on Saturday, Feb. 19, at XULA's Tennis Center. "It was good to get our first wins of the season," head coach Meenakshi Sundaram proudly stated. "Great job by Kayla Hennigan today for getting her first collegiate victory. Now we have to continue to build on this and keep moving forward." The Bleu Devils won the first doubles match with Kaavya Palani – Hafsa Sanhaji defeating MUW's team of Nicole Rensink – Karina Garcia, 6-0. DU won the second doubles match as the team of Kayla Henningan – Prerana Koirala won 6-0 over Maggie Taylor – Mandy Ferguson. In the first singles play, Kaavya Palani defeated Sarah Kackley, 6-0, 6-0. In the second single slot, Prerana Koirala beat Karen Calzadilla, 6-0, 6-0. The team's No. 3 singles player, Hafsa Sanhaji, beat MUW's Mallory Parker, 6-1, 6-1 The team's No. 4 single player, Kayla Henningan, defeated MUW's Terraline Green, 6-2, 6-2. Next, the DU women take on the University of Mobile on Friday, Feb. 25, in the afternoon at the City Park Tennis Center following the Mobile – Loyola University New Orleans match that will be played before Dillard takes the court.
