Dillard Falls after a Fourth Run against Rams
New Orleans, LA- Dillard fell to Mobile after a slow start in the first half of the game. The Bleu Devils are still in search of wins as they put all the pieces together.
The first quarter saw Mobile take an early lead, scoring 22 points compared to Dillard's 16. Mobile continued to win the point differential in the second quarter, outscoring Dillard 18-10. At halftime, Mobile held a comfortable lead of 40-26.
The third quarter saw Mobile maintain their momentum, scoring 23 points, while Dillard managed to score only 15. However, Dillard made a comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 20 points compared to Mobile's 8. Despite their efforts, Dillard fell short, and Mobile secured the victory with a final score of 71-61.
For Mobile, Alanna Donaldson was the top performer, scoring 16 points and contributing 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Miriam Oldarcre also had a strong performance, scoring 14 points and adding 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Erica Jones contributed 14 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 assist.
On the other hand, Dillard's Cassidy Lowe had an outstanding performance, scoring 9 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Jordyn Rowe also performed well, scoring 10 points and contributing 4 rebounds and 1 assist.
Overall, Mobile displayed a strong offensive performance, shooting 41.9% from the field and 31.8% from beyond the arc. Dillard struggled with their shooting, only managing to shoot 34.4% from the field and 10.0% from three-point range. However, they had a strong free-throw shooting percentage of 85.7%.
Despite Dillard's efforts to stage a comeback in the fourth quarter, it was not enough to overcome the deficit. Dillard will look to build off their performance in the fourth quarter as they continue to improve this season.
