Dillard Falls to Tough LSU-S Team
Shreveport, LA- Dillard fell to LSU Shreveport with a final score of 63-31.
In the first quarter, both teams started strong, with Dillard (LA) and LSU Shreveport scoring 10 points each. However, in the second quarter, LSU Shreveport pulled ahead, outscoring Dillard (LA) 19-5. This gave them a significant lead going into halftime.
LSU Shreveport continued their dominance in the second half, scoring 13 points in the third quarter and 21 points in the fourth quarter. Dillard struggled to keep up, only managing to score 8 points in the third quarter and 8 points in the fourth quarter.
The leading scorer for Dillard was Asia Dawson, who scored 12 points. Alexis Gie contributed 5 points, respectively. Sydni John-Baptiste also made notable contributions, 9 points, respectively.
On the other hand, LSU Shreveport had a more balanced scoring effort. Alexis Brown led the team with 10 points, followed by Destanee Roblow with 8 points. Tahjea Smith and Derrica Gilbert scored 9 and 3 points, respectively. Other players who made significant contributions include Tiarra Tillison with 10 points and Erynn Williams with 5 points.
Dillard struggled with their shooting, only making 18.6% of their field goals.
Dillard will need to regroup as they are slated to face off against Division 1 Mcneese State. This will be the first of two exhibitions that the Bleu Devils will play this season.
