Bio

Brittany Ensley is from Harrisburg, Oregon. As a player, she was a utility player who focused on catching, pitching and being a hitter who could hit for power, slap, or for average.

Ensley played collegiate softball for six years. She began her career at the junior college level at Chemeketa Community College in Salem, Oregon in 2017 where she was an academic all-conference and second-team utility player. Ensley transferred to a Division II school, Lane College, in Jackson,Tennessee from 2018-2020 where she completed her bachelors in business. Lane College is a HBCU out of the SIAC conference.

Following COVID, she transferred to Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans. From 2020-23 Ensley was a graduate student and completing her master’s in education. She aided the establishment of Xavier’s softball program as the program's first senior and graduate student. 

Once her season was over, she immediately started coaching while serving as the graduate assistant coach from 2022-23. Her focus was the pitching staff and catchers, and she assisted players with hitting and fielding. During her tenure, Ensley helped Xavier beat a number of SWAC schools such as Grambling State, Alcorn, and Southern University of Baton Rouge.

“I am very passionate about HBCU athletics and adding my knowledge, strength, prior experience, and coaching mindset to these young ladies and growing a great up-and-comingprogram,” states Ensley as she looks forward to becoming a member of the Bleu Devil community.
