Lady Bleu Devils Sweep Rust in Double-header Match-up
NEW ORLEANS– In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Dillard University Bleu Devils triumphed over Rust College with a decisive 9-1 victory during their matchup on March 26, 2025. The game, held at Dillard University's home field, showcased the Bleu Devils' offensive prowess and solid pitching performance, leading to their commanding win.
The game kicked off with Dillard's De'Asia Davenport energizing the team by hitting an inside-the-park home run in the first inning, putting the Bleu Devils on the scoreboard. Dillard maintained their momentum throughout the game, particularly excelling in the fourth inning with a six-run outburst. Key contributors included Madison Clark, who had an exceptional performance with four hits and three RBIs, and Ca'Terra Bates, who added two RBIs. Davenport, apart from her home run, and other hitters consistently pressured Rust College's defense with strategic batting.
Jennifer Gress led Dillard's pitching efforts, delivering a stellar performance by allowing only two hits and striking out nine over five innings, effectively controlling Rust College's offensive attempts.
