NEW ORLEANS– In a commanding performance, Dillard University (LA) dominated Oakwood University (AL) in a softball game held on March 9, 2025, in New Orleans, LA. Dillard triumphed with an overwhelming 18-2 victory, showcasing their offensive prowess and solid defense.
The game began with Dillard taking an early lead, scoring six runs in the first inning. Key contributions came from Ca'Terra Bates, who walked in a run, followed by Jennifer Gress and Haley Weatherspoon, each delivering crucial doubles that drove multiple runners home. Trenity Okedele added an RBI single to cap off the explosive inning.
Dillard continued to pile on the pressure, adding two more runs in the second inning through a 2-RBI double by Mekayla Marshall. The third inning saw Dillard's largest surge, scoring nine runs.
