NEW ORLEANS, LA– In a captivating softball showdown on February 28, 2025, Louisiana Christian edged out Dillard with a late-game surge to secure a 4-3 victory. The game, held at Dillard, showcased a dramatic comeback by Louisiana Christian, turning the tide in the final innings.
The game began with Dillard taking an early lead. In the second inning, Madison Clark set the tone with a solo home run to right field, putting Dillard on the scoreboard. The third inning saw Dillard extend their lead as De'Asia Davenport and Kyiera Torrence capitalized on defensive errors by Louisiana Christian, increasing the advantage to 3-0.
Louisiana Christian, however, was undeterred. They began their comeback in the fourth inning when Koch scored on a fielder's choice by Miah Broussard, narrowing the gap to 3-1. The momentum continued in the sixth inning as Miah Broussard delivered a crucial double, driving in Emma Hunt to make it 3-2.
The defining moment came in the seventh inning. Emma Hunt's sacrifice fly allowed Harrison and Dauthier to score, propelling Louisiana Christian to a 4-3 lead. Dillard was unable to counter in the bottom half, sealing the victory for Louisiana Christian.
