Dillard Men's Track and Field Team setting the Precedent for the Season

NEW ORLEANS– On December 6, 2024 Dillard University participated in the New Orleans Triangular Winter Classic where they competed against Loyola and Xavier University. Though the meet was hosted at Tad Gormley Stadium, the runners ran indoor races.
Jamaal Morris Jr won the 60m and 200m with times of 6.81s and 21.41s. Both teams have qualified him for the 2025 NAIA Indoor nationals. Morris ties his own school record in the 60m (6.81) and his 200m time is #4 all time in school history.
Mark Emilen ran the 200m with a time of 21.69s which is his lifetime best indoors. He finished in 2nd place.
Robert Jackson Jr, a new member to the Dillard men's track and field team ran the 60m and the 200m with times of 7.15s and 22.23s respectively. He finished 4th place in both races.
Christopher Watson won the Long Jump with a distance of 7.00m.
Jordan Winder won the 400m with a time of 52.61s.
Markel Myles won the 600m with a time of 1:24.68.
K'Mon Washington won the 1000m and broke the school record with a time of 2:51.91. Daniel Martinez finished 3rd in the 1000m with a time of 3:12.64.
Stanley Rhone got 2nd place in the weight throw with a distance of 11.30m and the throw is #10 in school history.
Damion Hammond finished 6th in the shot put with a distance of 9.44m and finished 4th in the weight throw 7.65m.
