Another exciting Weekend for Dillard Me'ns Track
New Orleans,LA- Coach Nile and the men's track team went on the road this past Friday to compete in the McNeese Indoor meet. Many familiar faces made an impact on the day of posting the new season best. The 4x4 team also made some noise as they qualified for NAIA Nationals. Coach Nile had this to say, "I think today was a great day for the men". They will have some time to regroup before traveling to LSU for the Twilight Indoor meet on Feb. 17th.
Johnathan Kitchen: had now established himself as Dillard's best shot put thrower. Today the junior threw 12.98m and that throw is #9 on the all-time list. Kitchen owns 9 spots in the top 10. In the weight throw Kitchen threw 12.73m that throw moved him to #2 all time.
Christopher Watson: has broken another school record ranking him #1 in school history in the high jump (1.90m). Watson also finished 5th in the long jump on the day with a mark of 6.57m
Datjuan Harris: Finished six on the day in the triple jump with a jump of 12.92m, the jump was a season-best for Harris.
Jordan Yates: finished second on the 60h with a fast time of 8.45.
Mark Emilien and Darren Petty Jr.: High school teammates finishing second and third in the 400m, Emilien (51.26) and Petty (51.53).
4x4: Todd, Branch, Emilien, and Petty finished second in the meet, also qualifying for NAIA Nationals.
