Dillards Speed on Display in Houston
New Orleans,LA- Dillard track and field traveled to Houston, TX to compete in the FasTrak invitational indoor meet this past weekend. The field was made up of teams across all divisions and Dillard still managed to exert their dominance. Coach Nile had great remarks for Senior, Cody branch," Cody has been our leader and we will him to have a season for the ages". They continued to have individuals qualify for nationals in just their second week of competition. Their next meet will take place on January 27th, In Lake Charles, LA, at McNeese State.
Cody Branch- Qualified in the 60m (6.90) the fastest Branch has ever run. On the day Branch won the 200m (21.76) which is #9 all-time on the Dillard list. Branch is arguably the best sprinter in program history.
Christopher Watson broke his school record today in the high jump with a mark of 1.90m just missing the national qualifying standard. Watson owns 8 spots on Dillard's all-time high jump list.
Jonathan Kitchen is back! The junior prettun owns the top 10 list in program history and today was no different. Kitchen threw 13.14m and that was good for #7 on the all-time list.
