Bleu Devils Blowout Rust College in Third Match of the HBCUAC Crossover
TALLADEGA, AL– Dillard University's men's basketball team secured a dominant victory over Rust College on January 6, 2025, with a final score of 94-62. The game took place at the Billy Hawkins Student Activity Center, where Dillard displayed a strong performance on both ends of the court.
Dillard's offense was firing on all cylinders, shooting an impressive 54.7% from the field and 55.6% from beyond the arc. Armond Williams led the scoring for Dillard with 24 points, supported by Tory Cargo with 19 points and Justin Warren with 14 points. The team's ball movement was also on point, as they recorded 19 assists on their 35 made field goals.
Defensively, Dillard was able to limit Rust's scoring opportunities, holding them to just 35.9% shooting from the field and 23.8% from three-point range. Dillard's strong rebounding performance, totaling 39 rebounds compared to Rust's 32, helped them control the game on both ends of the court.
