Talladega Defeats Dillard in Close Matchup

New Orleans, LA - In a thrilling basketball game on January 30, 2024, Talladega (AL) emerged victorious against Dillard (LA) with a final score of 71-61. The game showcased impressive performances from both teams, but Talladega's strong offensive display ultimately secured their win. 

The game started with Talladega taking an early lead, outscoring Dillard 30-19 in the first half. Lamont Sams of Talladega struggled with his shooting, going 3-15 from the field, but his teammates stepped up to compensate for his off night. Dillard's Tyrus Crawford and Tory Cargo tried to keep their team in the game, but their efforts fell short in the face of Talladega's strong defense. 

In the second half, Dillard came out strong in the second half, outscoring Talladega 42-41. However, their efforts were not enough to close the gap completely. Wilfred Campbell of Talladega was the top performer of the game, scoring 19 points. Tory Cargo stood out for Dillard, scoring 20 points and shooting an impressive 44.4% from beyond the arc. Despite his efforts, Dillard was unable to overcome Talladega's strong team performance.

Dillard fought hard but struggled to match Talladega's offensive efficiency. The Blue Devils will face off with the Bearcats of Rust College on February 1, 2024, at 7:30 pm.
