The Dillard Men’s Basketball Team Sees Two Earn First Team All-GCAC Honors And Also Had The Defensive Player of the Year in the Conference’s Post-Season Awards

Little Rock, Arkansas – The Dillard men's basketball team (10-16) had a pair of players named All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC) and also had the Defensive Player of the Year on the team, presented by Little Rock Coaches, the conference announced in a mid-game ceremony on Feb. 25.

Kaleb Allison and Jeremiah August were both named First Team All-GCAC for the first time in their careers. Allison placed second on the team in scoring this season during the regular season with his average of 14.4 points per game. He played in 24 games with 22 starts this year. Allison shot 52.1 percent from the field and averaged 8.0 rebounds per game. He was named the GCAC Player of the Week on Jan. 19. August led the team in both total rebounds (220) and rebounds per game (11.0) while playing in 20 games and racking up 19 starts. August also averaged 7.5 points per game. He also tallied 25 assists, 17 blocks and 15 steals.

In additional to securing a place on the First Team for All-GCAC, Allison was named to the All-Defensive Team and also was selected as the GCAC Defensive Player of the Year. Allison tied for the team lead in blocks while totaling nine steals and 191 rebounds in 24 games.

Next, the men's basketball team advances to take on top seed and host school Philander Smith on Saturday evening, Feb. 26, at 7 p.m. at Mims Gymnasium.
