The Dillard Men’s Basketball Earns Fourth Seed and Will Face Off With Fifth Seed Fisk University in the Quarterfinals of the GCAC Basketball Tournament

New Orleans – The Dillard University men's basketball team (9-16, 4-4 GCAC) finished in a tie for third place for the upcoming GCAC Basketball Tournament along with Rust College. The two teams tied in the first of three tiebreaking scenarios and it came down to a coin flip. In the coin flip, Rust College won so Dillard was awarded the fourth seed and the program will take on the fifth seed Fisk University in the quarterfinals on the campus of Philander Smith College at Mims Gymnasium. The Bleu Devils will play at either 2 p.m. or 7 p.m. The finalized game time is still yet to be announced. Dillard is coming into the tournament having won three of the last five games with the two losses coming by a combined five points to Tougaloo College (2/12) and Rust College (2/21). DU has been led this season by Elijah Moore. Moore is averaging 15.2 points per game. He is also pulling down 5.4 rebounds and leads the team in assists (80) and steals (43). Moore has also been selected as the GCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week twice this year. Kaleb Allison is putting up 14.4 points and eight rebounds per contest while shooting 52.1 percent from the field. Allison was named the GCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Jan. 19. Rajhan Billingsley is also averaging in double figures at 12.5 points per game. Billingsley leads the team as he is shooting 43 percent from three-point range. He was named the GCAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Feb. 7. Jeremiah August is the leading rebounder at 11 boards per game. He is tied for the team lead with 15 blocks.
