Bio
Coach White takes the helm of the Dillard University Baseball program as its 2nd head coach since the revival of the program in 2023. White assumed the role as interim head coach on March 29, 2024 and was announced as the program’s official head coach on June 19. The program was 6-21 at the time of White assuming the interim coaching position, but under his short tenure, the Bleu Devils went 14-6 amassing a 20-27 overall record for the 2024 season.
White has served as a high school head coach at Carver High School in Montgomery Ala. where he earned Coach of the Year, as an assistant coach at Alabama State University under Hall of Fame Coach Larry Watkins, one of White’s mentors. He’s also served as an associate head coach at Texas College under friend and brother Anthony “Happy” Macon of whom he coached at Alabama State and their friendship and brotherhood has continued since, as well as associate head coach at ASA Miami under former head coach Renny Tolentino, now Bullpen Coach for the Pensacola Wahoos. White also served as an Associate Scout for MLB Teams Boston Red Sox and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Prior to assuming the role of head coach of the Dillard University Bleu Devils Baseball Program, White served as the CEO and National Scouting Director of the National Scouting Bureau. White has had an extensive career in not only baseball, but in business and politics also. He’s served as managing partner in WealthBridge Financial, MassMutual and New England Financial. As for politics, he’s held roles as a lobbyist, Political Operative and in Campaign Management.
White, a graduate of Alabama State University,a HBCU, comes from a coach and educator family;his father, Raymond White, an Alabama High School and National High School Hall of Fame Basketball Coach and his mother a retired educator, Sarah White. He has two sisters, Itaya and Jada who are both Alabama High School basketball and volleyball Coaches. White has been married for 26 years to his high school sweetheart, Tamara and they have two beautiful daughters, Precious and Alani, who are both in college (Troy University and South Alabama, respectively), and a granddaughter, two-year-old Paisley. White is also an Ordained Deacon and member of the Deacon Board at True Divine Baptist Church where he provides oversight to the church’s public relations and facility operation. He is also a Deacon Advisory to his home Church of Clio First Missionary Baptist Church.
