Dillard Remains Hot as They Knock off Two Conference Opponents
New Orleans, LA- Dillard Volleyball hosted a doubleheader on Friday, facing off against Oakwood University and Fisk University. This would be the first of two matchups against both of these opponents. The Bleu Devils would start the day with a win over the Ambassadors. That match would see the Bleu Devils dominate as they retain their regular season conference win streak. The Bleu Devils would then face off against Fisk, winning in straight sets. The Bleu Devils advanced to 8-3 on the season and remain undefeated in conference play. The next matchup for the Bleu Devils will be a familiar foe in the University of Mobile, who defeated Dillard earlier this season. Dillard will seek revenge on Tuesday, Sept. 12th, at 7 PM.
Dillard vs Oakwood
Dillard defeated Oakwood with a final score of 3-0. Dillard dominated the match, winning all three sets with 25-15, 25-6, and 25-18 scores.
In the first set, Dillard had a solid offensive performance, recording 13 kills with a hitting percentage of .257. Cadence Thomas led the team with 11 kills, while Madisyn Bussey contributed three kills. Taylor Hurst had an impressive game as the setter, recording 14 assists.
The second set was even more dominant for Dillard, as they won 25-6. The team excelled offensively, with 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .357. Cadence Thomas had another strong performance with four kills, while Sara Da Silva contributed three.
In the third set, Oakwood put up a better fight but ultimately fell short, scoring 25-18. Nya St. Cyr led the team with five kills in the final set. Taylor Hurst continued to excel as the setter, recording five assists. Chasry Lum-King had another solid defensive performance with 13 digs.

Dillard vs Fisk
The game between Fisk (TN) and Dillard (LA) was one-sided, with Dillard dominating in all three sets.
