Men's Track Team Continues to Shatter School Records
NEW ORLEANS– The men's track team continues to make history by breaking school records and qualifying for more events at the NAIA Indoor National Championships.
Robert Jackson Jr won the 60m and 200m at the Bleu Devil Indoor Track Classic.
Christopher Watson won the long jump (7.26m) which is a national qualifier and #2 all time to only himself. Watson also won the 400m (51.25).
Jordan Winder (52.04) and Jeremy Geary Jr (52.55) finished 2nd and 3rd, respectively, in the 400m.
Stanley Rhone was runner up at the Classic in the weight throw with a mark of 12.87m. the mark is #5 all time in school history.
Damion Hammond Jr's best event of the day was shot put where he threw a lifetime best of 10.44m.
2024 USTFCCCA South athlete of the year Jamaal Morris had an easy day of only qualifying for the 4x4 with a school record and the #1 time in the NAIA.
Mark Emilien and Darren Petty Jr also had a light load on the day of the meet helping Watson and Morris Jr. qualify for the 4x4 with a time of 3:16.12.
