Bleu Devil Derailed by Wildcats in the 7th Inning

Pineville, LA - Louisiana Christian baseball team secured a 6-5 victory over Dillard (LA) in a closely contested game at Billy Allgood Field.

Dillard (LA) struggled to get their offense going early in the game but managed to score a run in the fourth inning. G. Alvarez singled to right field, driving in T. McColloug and cutting the deficit to 4-1.

Dillard (LA) staged a comeback in the fifth inning, with D. Moore hitting a two-run home run to bring the score to 4-3. They took the lead in the sixth inning, capitalizing on an error by the Louisiana Christian right fielder. C. Clark scored on the error, and G. Alvarez scored on another error by the right fielder, giving Dillard (LA) a 5-4 advantage.

In the seventh inning, Louisiana Christian sealed the victory. B. Sers singled to right field, driving in T. McKenna and H. Gotreaux, giving Louisiana Christian a 6-5 lead.

Both teams had strong pitching performances. G. Barlow started for Dillard (LA) and pitched six innings, allowing five runs (four earned) on eight hits. C. Fontenot started for Louisiana Christian and pitched four innings, allowing one run on three hits.

The game was closely contested, with both teams battling until the final out. Dillard willl close out the series on Janaury 28, 2024 at 5:00 pm central. Dillard (LA) fell to 0-3 with the loss.
